Wood flooring is not only a significant one-time investment, but can also be costly to maintain, especially if you place it in a high traffic area in your home. It is pretty, and all, but how much time and money are you willing to put in for maintenance?
Hardwood floors, especially when it is laid throughout a home, require a significant amount of maintenance. It may not need to be vacuumed like home carpet, but it does need to be kept clean from time to time. Sure, you can sweep it, but to maintain that new flooring shine, you will have to wax and mop it regularly. Depending on the type of material used, or the manufacturer, this can get costly over time, because the majority want you to use the best products available to maintain its finish, seal and shine.
