I don’t think I’m going too far if I say the floor is the most important part of your interior. Not just because of the fact that it is the most burdened part of a house or a flat, but also because it is the base of it. Almost anything you put into a room is placed on the floor and almost anything that you drop will also end up on your floor. Your feet touch it almost constantly and it partially depends up to it whether your feet are cold or nice and warm. These are just a few reasons why you must choose your type of flooring very carefully and plan ahead before you buy it.
There are quite a few different types of flooring you can choose from, and within each type there are different materials, colours and designs to pick. Not an easy task at all, especially if this is the first time you are having new flooring installed. Some people swear that hardwood flooring is the way to go, others would never consider anything else but laminate, while my favourite type is probably engineered oak flooring.
Tiles and vinyl flooring are also quite popular and in the end it comes down to the purpose of each room. Any type of wood is not too suitable for bathrooms, where tiles are most recommended. Water will ruin the wood eventually and you don’t want that, especially because any type of wood flooring is quite expensive.
But don’t think wood is not recommended in other rooms. Just the contrary, wooden flooring is very durable and nothing looks nicer and more attractive than wooden floors. It does require some maintenance, but it will also last for decades if you will take good care of it.
So in the end two things are important. Research and proper installation. Don’t save money on your floors and have an expert install it.
