1. Make your bedroom represent you. Your bedroom is one of the most important rooms within your property so, like the rest of your house, it should represent your character.
2. Your bed should be comfortable. The mattress you lie on with determine the quality of your sleep and your mood for the day ahead. Always research the market before buying a mattress.
3. Ensure your bedroom has enough storage space. If your bedroom is in order then you will want to spend more time relaxing in there, rather than thinking about the cleaning. Storage space can help you hide away the clutter!
4. If you share a bedroom with your partner then ensure that you work together to create a mutual space which you can both appreciate. There is no point in a bedroom which has clearly two different styles. The same can be said for relationships however that is a different conversation!
5. Lighting is key for reading and the general look of the bedroom. You will need a bedside reading light, overhead lights and with newer, luxury bedrooms you will find spotlights which can add an extra sophisticated look.
6. Use senses, candles, flowers or other smells to fragrance your home. The atmospherics are as important as the aesthetics of a bedroom. Ensure that you are not allergic to any products.
7. Flooring is important for your bedroom. You should choose flooring that meets your needs. If you have a hectic lifestyle and cleaning is not top of your agenda then laminate flooring could be for you. Alternatively, for a more comfortable feel, try a thick carpet to add depth and warmth to the bedroom.
8. Pictures within your bedroom are a must. You should always decorate your bedroom and your house in general with pictures. You no longer need to stick to boring old frames; instead you can use canvas or posters. As always, be unique and let your own style come through. Personally, I have travelled a lot of the world and find my pictures astonishing. So, I found a company of the internet (there are loads) to change my pictures into canvas. These are scattered throughout my house. It really does make your bedroom feel more personal!
9. My worst bedroom crime is leaving used mugs and plates in the bedroom. If you do eat or drink in bed ensure that these are cleaned up ASAP.
10. The final tip is less cosmetic and just good practice. Your bedroom should be a relaxing place but too much time spend in bed will make sleeping very difficult. Don’t think about problems in bed nor watch too much TV!
I hope these tips will enable you to love your bedroom. Overall, the points that are important are 1. Show off your character 2. Work with the bedrooms features 3. Make your bedroom the most important room in your house. You spend most of your free time in bed sleeping and I guarantee a clean, tidy and well organised bedroom will lead to a more relaxed you!
